Who You Are

You’re not sure about what you believe. You don’t have all the answers. You don’t have to know. You don’t have to be sure. You can bring your doubt. You can bring your questions. We have doubts and questions too. There are questions here.

You belong here.

You’ve been hurt in church. Emotionally, spiritually, relationally—even physically. A place that should have been helpful and safe, became toxic and dangerous. You’re unsure you can ever trust or believe anyone or anything. We’ve had trust broken too. There is pain here.

You belong here.

You feel like a disappointment. You’ve been told that you’re impure, used, unwanted. You feel broken, lost, useless. We’ve known that brokenness too. There is disappointment here.

You Belong here.

You have been told you’re an abomination. You’ve been told “the truth in love.” You’ve been told “love the sinner, hate the sin.” You’ve been given scripture verses that condemn you. And you have felt people’s rejection and disregard of you. We’ve been condemned too. There is the sting of rejection here.

You belong here.

You believe that everyone deserves to feel like they belong. You want to be a friend to those who are suffering. You want to be present in the lives of those who feel alone. You want to believe in something meaningful and life giving. We believe in community too. There is hope here.

You belong here.

You are the person you are—you matter to God and you matter to us exactly as the person you are. Our strength rests in our diversity of experiences and the stories we bring with us. Every person’s presence makes us a richer, stronger, and more vibrant community. We have deep love for the diversity of the humanity. There is celebration here. You are safe here. You are celebrated here.
