What We Do
Everything we do begins with a set of simple principles:
First, we do no harm.
This is foundational. Nothing else we do matters if we’re hurting people in the process. Each person is made in the image of God and deserves the dignity, respect, and love to be kept free from hurt. This includes our friends, our adversaries, those we do not know, and even ourselves.
Second, we do all the good that we can.
This is how we develop and deepen our relationships with each other. We listen to each other, we listen to our community, we learn how to care for and love each other. We remember and stand alongside those on the margins of our society because it’s among the marginalized that Christ meets us.
Third, we grow in our love of God.
This is our faith exploration. We believe that God is constantly at work in our lives drawing us more deeply into relationships with each other and with God. We are meant to be at peace with God and with each other. The ancient Hebrew word for it is Shalom. It signifies peace, wholeness, and healing.
Not one of us is perfect. We are all broken.
We are all works in progress. But each one of us is unique.
Each of our journeys is different. And our best days are ahead.
We belong here.
